As we approach the end of October, I’m pleased to share where we are, where we’ve come, and where we’re headed as a community. Today on our campus, over 150 residents are actively involved in their hall councils. Diligently serving their constituents, these members are producing intentional, high impact programs that demonstrably enhance the residential experience.
Hall Council Retreat allowed Councils to begin thinking critically about their visions for their communities. Nearly 100 members were trained in their duties and many took time to establish collaborative pathways with their peers across campus.
The Inter-Residence Council Retreat brought 20 residential leaders together to brainstorm and discuss major organizational initiatives for the year, including the new Welcome Magazine, the annual Run. Dance. Glow., and this year’s Residence Hall Week. We’re excited about these projects, and we look forward to sharing them with all of you next semester.
The President’s Round Table has been successfully founded. They will meet once a month to address Council concerns and form guiding decisions about the community’s future. We look forward to what lies ahead and the many possibilities for collaborative innovation that have now become viable. Additionally, one-on-ones with individual members of the Hall Councils have begun and are providing direct support to ensure their success.
